We invite you to come back to campus this April 27–28 to celebrate and reconnect with fellow alumni, explore campus, and see what's new at the medical school. We are hard at work planning an all-alumni party, class reunion dinners, mentoring lunches, city tours, CME credit courses, and more!

REGISTER TODAY! | | Hitting It Out of the Park | | So many of our alumni joined us for MAA events in Arizona on March 8 and 10. We held an alumni gathering in Scottsdale on March 8 where many of our alumni were able to meet and connect with fellow local alumni and friends of the medical school. On March 10, we had over 125 alumni and guests from all over the country join us in Mesa at Sloan Park to watch the Cubs take on the White Sox in a spring training game. The rivalry lives on as the game ended in a tie, 4–4. Thank you to everyone who joined us from near and far! | | We had such a fun time in New Orleans! Over 50 alumni joined us for a MAA Get-Together there on February 21. Many of our PT alumni who were in town for the American Physical Therapy Association conference were able to join us.
Thank you to Margaret Danilovich, ’07 DPT, PhD, and the Northwestern University Physical Therapy Alumni Association for your assistance with this event! | | The MAA brought a little bit of Chicago to the West Coast, holding events in Palo Alto on March 7 and Seattle on March 20. We love meeting regional alumni and providing opportunities for you to get to know fellow alumni in your area. We hope to see many of you next month in Chicago for Alumni Weekend. Thank you to all of our alumni and friends who came out for these wonderful events! | Daniel McCormick, MD, '97 GMEF, has been named president and chief executive officer of Franciscan Alliance. Dr. McCormick was formerly vice president of medical affairs for the hospital. Congratulations, Dr. McCormick!
| | Lyle L. Berkowitz, MD, '95 GMER, has been appointed chief medical officer and executive vice president of product strategy for MDLIVE, as well as president of the MDLIVE medical group. Dr. Berkowitz is founder and director of the non-profit Szollosi Healthcare Innovation Program at Northwestern Medicine and most recently served as director of innovation for Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. Congratulations, Dr. Berkowitz!
| | Stanford L. Gertler, '78 MD, celebrated 34 years as a partner in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in December, having served as chief of the Division of Gastroenterology there for 32 years. Dr. Gertler’s early retirement will include part-time work, teaching at the University of California, Irvine, and traveling with his wife, especially to visit their two granddaughters. Congratulations, Dr. Gertler!
| | Michael H. Salinger, MD, '82 GMER, '84 GMEF, recently joined Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Health Network in the Division of Cardiology. Dr. Salinger previously served as co-director of the Endovascular Center and director of the Comprehensive Cardiac Care Center at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. Congratulations, Dr. Salinger!
| | Randall M. Toig, MD, '82 GMER, was appointed to the board of directors of CTD Holdings, Inc., a clinical stage biotechnology company. Dr. Toig is currently a physician with Gold Coast Gynecology of Chicago and on faculty at Feinberg. Congratulations, Dr. Toig!
| | Erik O. Gilbertson, '92 MD, '93 GMER, received the Health Professional Volunteer of the Year Award from the National Psoriasis Foundation. Dr. Gilbertson is chief of Dermatology at Scripps Clinic Rancho San Diego in La Mesa, California. Congratulations, Dr. Gilbertson!

Director's Desk: | Dear Alumni,
We are only one month away from Alumni Weekend! We hope that you are making your plans to attend. We have so many fun activities and learning opportunities planned. Additionally, there are many social events that will allow you to reconnect with former classmates. We hope that you can join us April 27–28.
We held alumni events in Arizona at the beginning of March, including an Alumni Get-Together in Scottsdale and a well-attended Spring Training Game at Sloan Park (Chicago White Sox vs. Chicago Cubs). We hope that, if you are in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area in the winter months, you will join us in future years for our alumni activities. We also recently hosted a gathering for over 50 alumni in New Orleans, as well as regional events in Palo Alto and Seattle. We love to bring Chicago to you. If you are interested in volunteering to host or to help plan an alumni gathering in your area, please let us know!
